1970 Fender Stratocaster, sunburst. Made in USA, serial number 285476. This guitar features all the '69 specs such as four-screw neck plate, pearloid back pickguard (no aluminum shield). The neck code dates to November '69, the pots to '66 and the pickups to 1970, as does the serial number range. A few mods make this a cool player's piece, namely a crude humbucker route in the bridge position underneath the pickguard. A string locking mechanism was also once installed, leaving four screw holes on the headstock and two on the body. The knobs are later 70s (or early 80s Fullerton Reissue era - three-spoke), as are the bridge saddles. The pickup covers look period correct but might not original to the guitar. We've a few with the patent no. decal on the headstock missing and this is one of them. Also has a vintage five-way pickup selector switch installed. One replaced strap button. Comes with the original black tolex hardshell case. Weighs 3.6kg.
