1972 Fender Telecaster, natural. Made in USA. This guitar has a March '72 neck stamp and is one of the last with the '69 specs ie. single string tree, correct body shape. This was bought by the previous owner in Los Angeles in 1995 and has seen quite some action - the serial number went missing, the pickguard and pickguard screws were replaced, it was recently refretted (leaving the fretboard unlacquered, feels great), new nut, rewound neck pickup. The pots were swapped out for later '75 dated ones at one point. The finish has us puzzled as there are no signs of a refinish in the neck pocket and cavities, yet the finish itself has sunk into the wood grain, we're selling it as worked on and at least partially refinished. The tuners were also replaced at one point. Now for the good stuff: the body is a 99% single piece of gorgeously figured ash, it looks just like a 50s blackguard Tele. It also has a surprisingly fat neck profile! And the guitar has a very warm and fat sound, not shrill and tinny at all. Comes with a Fender tweed hardshell case. Weighs 3.65kg.
