Ca. 1974 Gibson Flying V, alpine white. Made in USA, serial number 406189. This guitar was professionally refinished, has a scalloped fretboard and no original parts other than the Patent No. bridge and possibly the Switchcraft switch. It mounts Grover tuners, vintage Seymour Duncan pickups (SH-5 in the bridge position, non labelled in the neck position) and CTS pots. This serial number range generally had mid '74 pots, it has the correct control cavity routing and dot inlays for this timeframe as well. It looks like the volute was either shaved off before the refinish or it was never there and we can't detect any sign of a headstock repair, but it's impossible to tell unless the finish was removed. So there you go, get yourself a shred-ready real vintage Flying V that doesn't break the bank. Comes with a vintage hardshell case. Weighs only 3.05kg!
